Beatrix is an Associate Professor of anatomy at LMU-DCOM and completed
her 200 hour yoga teacher
training through Hot Asana University. Beatrix fell in love with yoga through attending classes at the
Yoga Nook and believes the combination of movement, mindfulness and serenity she has found on her
mat is helping her become the best version of herself. Beatrix was amazed at the physical and mental
strength that daily yoga practice instilled in her and she credits yoga as deepening her understanding of
the human body. The sense of community that yoga practice has brought her has helped her find
balance in her work and home life and she is excited to share her passion for yoga with others.
Beatrix is a fitness enthusiast and enjoys trail running, mountain biking, kayaking and practicing outdoor yoga in
the beautiful surroundings that the Cumberland Mountains offer.
Beatrix is also the proud mom of two
French Bulldog rescues, Cherry and Lulu and is married to the love of her life.
Emily is currently an undergraduate student at Lincoln Memorial University and is studying Biology in the Pre-Med route. She has grown up in Harrogate Tennessee, so she is a local in the community! She loves to get outside and explore but also finds joy in staying inside and relaxing with her family.
Emily began her yoga journey when her mom went to a class at the Yoga Nook and then talked her into going with her next time. Yoga started as a way for her to gain strength and relieve some pain from years of playing softball, but it turned into a true passion. Shortly after her yoga journey began, she began yoga teacher training and she is now a 200 hour certified teacher by Hot Asana Yoga University.
Join me for a class that is filled with great music and fun postures!
Timbre is a high school English teacher turned stay-at-home mom, yoga teacher, and Harry Potter enthusiast. She completed her yoga teacher training through Uplifted Yoga with Bret Larkin, though her yoga journey began years ago at the 3B Yoga studio in Provo, Utah. In recent years, as life events have thrown multiple curveballs her way, Timbre returned to yoga as a means of coping, and in it she has found her salvation. The mindfulness that has come through her yoga practice has allowed her to not only survive the life that she is leading but to come to love it and to see the goodness in herself as well as those around her. Yoga has provided her with a means for constant regrounding and centering, allowing her to focus on the truly meaningful things in life, and she is so excited to provide others with the opportunity to come to love this practice as well.
Timbre is married to her eternal love and is mother to three pretty amazing kids as well as Alice, the puppy beloved by so many Yoga Nook yogis. She taught English for 13 years at Lehi High School in Utah, and chose to stay at home with her children upon their move to Tennessee in 2018. She loves reading, playing at the park with her kids, and finding moments of simple peace throughout her days. She also loves slipping away from home to come to the Yoga Nook and hopes that all who come here feel the warmth and welcome that she has received within this cherished space.
Caroline is a 200 hour Registered Yoga Instructor, and a professional dance instructor. She is a college graduate from the University of Missouri- Kansas City with a BFA in Dance. Caroline began her yoga journey when she was fifteen years old. She had always been involved in dance, but dealt with physical injuries as a result. Yoga started to heal not only physical issues, but mental struggles as well. Caroline received her 200 hour yoga certification from Blue Ridge Yoga in Knoxville, TN, wanting to deepen her practice and share the incredible power of yoga.
Caroline moved to Harrogate, TN with her loving husband as he attends the School of Veterinary Medicine at LMU.
Moving somewhere new is always challenging, but Caroline always had yoga to rely on. Getting the opportunity to teach yoga to others is one of the most rewarding jobs you can have. Allowing people to understand the true meaning of self love is a key element to Caroline's classes. She truly believes that yoga is for everyone, supplying modifications for any level of student to feel successful in her classes.
Kelli is a (former) OR nurse from Louisville, KY who is now a current medical student at LMU-DCOM. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training through Hot Asana University after falling back in love with yoga at the Yoga Nook. She appreciates how different her body and mind feel afterwards (it’s always worth it to go!) and her favorite classes involve unexpected sequences and music with great beats!
In her free time, Kelli is loving on her dog children (a German Shepherd named Binx, a Corgi named Rupert, and a cattle dog mix named Sugar), photographing various things around Middlesboro and the Gap, or reading books that aren’t school related.
Haley completed her Yoga Teacher Training with Hot Asana University in July 2020. Although new to teaching, Haley has been practicing vinyasa style yoga since 2012 after developing chronic low back pain from intensive dance training (which yoga had completely resolved within a year). Yoga not only healed her physical pain but flowing on her mat provided her with mental clarity and the opportunity to grow that she didn’t know she had.
In addition to her yoga practice, Haley is an osteopathic medical student at LMU-DCOM which is what brought her to the charming town of Middlesboro all the way from Grand Rapids, Michigan. She deeply understands the importance of incorporating mindfulness and self-care into daily living to cope with stress and anxiety.
When Haley is not practicing yoga or studying, she is a full time cat momma to Stevie. She also loves cooking, crafting, and backpacking.
Haley invites you to be yourself, stay mindful, and have fun on your mat whether it is your first time flowing or you are a lifelong yogi.
Marissa is a current medical student at LMU-DCOM which brought her here from Terre Haute, IN. While playing college volleyball, she started practicingyoga as a means to recover from practice. After finding the Yoga
Nook in 2019, she began practicing to
help with chronic low back pain and tight hips from studying, but stayed consistent because of the mental health benefits yoga offers. She appreciates the space for mindfulness and self love and the ability to fill up one’s cup while
practicing. It’s because of these same reasons she completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training through
Hot Asana University.
When not practicing yoga, Marissa enjoys spending time with her two dogs Biscuit and Ruger, cooking anything Indian, cuddling up onto the couch to watch a Disney movie and going for a walk around the Gap. She believes yoga is for people of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and skill level, and hopes to provide you with a class that leaves you feeling empowered.
